This past March, the spirit of Ramadan brought us something truly special. At Nedes, we believe that the best way to
build a stronger community is to sit down, share a meal, and actually talk to one another.
That’s exactly what we did. In partnership with the Dialogue Society and local councils, we supported five incredible Iftar events across the North East. From the bustling streets of Newcastle to the coastal charm of Hartlepool, these evenings were about much more than just breaking a fast—they were about breaking barriers.
We made our way across the region, hosting warm and welcoming evenings in:
- Newcastle
- Gateshead
- Sunderland
- Blyth
- Hartlepool
More Than Just a Meal
What made these nights stand out wasn't just the delicious food (though that was definitely a highlight!), but the people. We saw neighbours from all walks of life, different faiths, and diverse backgrounds sitting side-by-side.
A Huge Thank You
To everyone who attended, volunteered, or helped organize: thank you. You made these five nights unforgettable.
